- Implement schematic capture, design, and simulation prior to hardware execution.
- Conduct component selection and guide electronic computer-aided design (ECAD) personnel through layouts and technical drawing creation.
- Leverage commercially-available and government-sourced equipment for rapid prototyping and integration.
- Perform root cause and corrective action analyses, troubleshoot design and installation errors, and support development documentation.
- Integrate, analyze, and test hardware for both ground and airborne platforms, with a focus on environmental robustness and EMI/EMC compliance per military standards.
- Utilize SPICE or equivalent simulation tools for modeling electronics behavior; use analysis tools like MATLAB or Mathcad to assess circuit robustness.
- Present technical design reviews and technical documentation to leadership and project stakeholders.
- Collaborate using Microsoft Office Suite, Teams, OneNote, Azure DevOps, Excel, and e-mail.
Requirements
- US Citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related STEM field with at least 6 years of related engineering design experience, or a Master’s degree with 5 years experience.
- Demonstrated experience taking electronics design from high-level concept or block diagram to completed hardware, including verification via test and integration.
- Proficiency in digital circuit card design, analog circuit design, component selection, schematic capture, and analysis.
- Experience designing with microcontrollers/microprocessors, FPGAs, memory, and industry interfaces such as PCIe, Ethernet, I2C, UART, and integrating COTS solutions.
- Experience using circuit simulation tools (SPICE, LTSpice, QSpice, PSpice or similar).
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and collaborative communication tools.
