About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Monitor developments from the FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, SEC, and other regulatory bodies
Identify emerging trends, challenges, and educational needs within the accounting profession
Evaluate market opportunities and recommend new courses or enhancements to existing curriculum
Partner with leadership and marketing teams to ensure our content remains timely, relevant, and competitive
Design, develop, and update CPE courses covering U.S. GAAP, Auditing Standards (GAAS), SSARS, SEC Developments, Ethics, and other key accounting and auditing topics
Create engaging learning materials including presentation decks, course manuals and chapters, knowledge checks and assessment questions, technical articles and content summaries
Ensure all educational content complies with NASBA and applicable CPE standards
Provide technical expertise on complex accounting and auditing matters
Collaborate with internal teams to answer customer questions and support educational initiatives
Contribute technical articles, blogs, and thought leadership content
Support strategic initiatives that enhance the value and reach of Surgent's curriculum
Depending on experience and interest, present CPE courses in webinar, live, or self-study formats, engage directly with accounting professionals during training sessions, and serve as a primary resource for technical participant questions

Requirements

What you’ll need

Active CPA license
Strong technical accounting expertise, including U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
Experience researching and interpreting complex accounting guidance
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Strong project management and organizational abilities
Ability to simplify technical concepts for professional audiences.
