About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Monitor developments from the FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, SEC, and other regulatory bodies
  • Identify emerging trends, challenges, and educational needs within the accounting profession
  • Evaluate market opportunities and recommend new courses or enhancements to existing curriculum
  • Partner with leadership and marketing teams to ensure our content remains timely, relevant, and competitive
  • Design, develop, and update CPE courses covering U.S. GAAP, Auditing Standards (GAAS), SSARS, SEC Developments, Ethics, and other key accounting and auditing topics
  • Create engaging learning materials including presentation decks, course manuals and chapters, knowledge checks and assessment questions, technical articles and content summaries
  • Ensure all educational content complies with NASBA and applicable CPE standards
  • Provide technical expertise on complex accounting and auditing matters
  • Collaborate with internal teams to answer customer questions and support educational initiatives
  • Contribute technical articles, blogs, and thought leadership content
  • Support strategic initiatives that enhance the value and reach of Surgent's curriculum
  • Depending on experience and interest, present CPE courses in webinar, live, or self-study formats, engage directly with accounting professionals during training sessions, and serve as a primary resource for technical participant questions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Active CPA license
  • Strong technical accounting expertise, including U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
  • Experience researching and interpreting complex accounting guidance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities
  • Ability to simplify technical concepts for professional audiences.
