Audit and Accounting Content Developer

About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Monitor developments from the FASB, AICPA, PCAOB, SEC, and other regulatory bodies
- Identify emerging trends, challenges, and educational needs within the accounting profession
- Evaluate market opportunities and recommend new courses or enhancements to existing curriculum
- Partner with leadership and marketing teams to ensure our content remains timely, relevant, and competitive
- Design, develop, and update CPE courses covering U.S. GAAP, Auditing Standards (GAAS), SSARS, SEC Developments, Ethics, and other key accounting and auditing topics
- Create engaging learning materials including presentation decks, course manuals and chapters, knowledge checks and assessment questions, technical articles and content summaries
- Ensure all educational content complies with NASBA and applicable CPE standards
- Provide technical expertise on complex accounting and auditing matters
- Collaborate with internal teams to answer customer questions and support educational initiatives
- Contribute technical articles, blogs, and thought leadership content
- Support strategic initiatives that enhance the value and reach of Surgent's curriculum
- Depending on experience and interest, present CPE courses in webinar, live, or self-study formats, engage directly with accounting professionals during training sessions, and serve as a primary resource for technical participant questions
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active CPA license
- Strong technical accounting expertise, including U.S. GAAP and auditing standards
- Experience researching and interpreting complex accounting guidance
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Strong project management and organizational abilities
- Ability to simplify technical concepts for professional audiences.
