About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Handle a high volume of inbound calls as the first point of contact for patients across UW Medicine
- Schedule appointments and register patients using electronic systems
- Verify insurance eligibility and maintain data accuracy
- Route calls and take complete, accurate messages
- Coordinate referrals and enter prior authorizations in Epic
- Provide compassionate customer service and resolve issues
- Collaborate with clinics, Financial Counselors, and Interpreter Services
- Support the patient portal and resolve inquiries
- Document interactions and update data during scheduling
- Adhere to performance standards, compliance requirements, and confidentiality
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year of general office experience, or experience in customer service, a call center environment, or problem resolution
- Equivalent education/experience accepted
- Ability to handle high-volume inbound calls in a fast-paced contact center
- Appointment scheduling and registration using electronic systems
- Insurance eligibility verification and data accuracy
- Referral coordination and prior authorization entry in Epic
- Customer service and issue resolution
- Adherence to compliance and confidentiality requirements
