About the role
- Overseeing and coordinating various projects and programs within the software engineering department
- Ensure alignment of software projects with the organization's strategic objectives
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meeting quality standards
- Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan
- Lead and oversee the execution of project tasks as defined in the project plan
- Maintain effective communication and working relationships with stakeholders and third parties/vendors
- Provide regular and timely updates to stakeholders about progress, adjustments, and advancements
- Determine and define project scope and objectives
- Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources effectively
- Identify potential risks and develop contingency plans
- Ensure that all projects adhere to quality standards and that deliverables meet project requirements
- Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement and report on project progress and changes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or a related field
- A Master's degree or an MBA would be a plus
- Certifications like PMP (Project Management Professional) are preferred
- At least 5-7 years of experience in project management, with a focus on software development projects
- Knowledge of software development methodologies (Agile, Scrum, etc.), project management tools (like JIRA, Trello), and program management principles
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills
- Strong problem-solving abilities and strategic thinking
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure
- Proven ability to solve problems creatively, strong familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
