About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Reporting to the President, the Business Development Executive is responsible for the development and execution of the business development strategy and sales plans for Util-Assist.
  • The successful candidate will lead a team of business development professionals in the establishment of annual sales targets, account plans, and go-to-market strategies to achieve corporate revenue growth objectives.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field; MBA considered an asset
  • Minimum 10+ years of sales and business development leadership experience within the utility industry
  • Proven success driving revenue growth, market expansion, and strategic partnerships
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing sales teams
  • Strong background in enterprise sales, account planning, and revenue forecasting
  • Experience with formal sales methodologies and CRM platforms
  • Established network within the Canadian utility sector
  • Experience managing complex sales pursuits, negotiations, and contract execution
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as required
  • Strong knowledge of sales strategy, business development, and account management
  • Deep understanding of the Canadian utility industry and market trends
  • Experience with sales methodologies, pipeline management, account planning, and revenue forecasting
  • Advanced ability to develop sales and marketing strategies in a technology and professional services environment
  • Advanced leadership and team management skills
  • Expert negotiation, contract development, and proposal writing skills
  • Expert pricing, quote development, and commercial strategy skills
  • Strong financial and business acumen, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Advanced MS Office and presentation skills
  • Experience with CRM systems, sales analytics, and reporting tools
  • Knowledge of utility modernization, AMI, and digital transformation initiatives is an asset
