About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Evaluate and analyze risks associated with new or renewal business.
- Manage a profitable portfolio in accordance with company guidelines and authority levels.
- Receive, review, and grant approval/issue rejection notices for risks within granted authority.
- Review and document risks outside of granted authority for referral to Supervising Underwriter.
- Order and analyze investigation reports on present or potential insureds.
- Receive, review, and approve/reject requests for endorsements to policies.
- Interpret available data and information to price policies within company guidelines.
- Build relationships with current agents/agencies.
- Communicate with agents and other company personnel about insureds and policy endorsements.
- Achieve individual performance metrics in areas such as agent call-outs, written premium, and loss ratio.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- 4-7 years' underwriting experience preferred.
