About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Investigate and handle primarily complex and serious Workers' Compensation claims in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York jurisdictions
- Handle claims in other jurisdictions as needed
- Perform special claims investigations and handling matters requiring broad technical claims knowledge
- Operate independently with little supervision
- Settle claims within assigned authority
- Maintain frequent contact with attorneys concerning serious claim matters
- Review court decisions, law, and coverage interpretations
- Assume Claims Supervisor duties during the Supervisor's absence
Requirements
What you’ll need- 4-year degree in business administration or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 1–2 years as Claims Specialist or 3–4 years adjusting experience
- Lost time experience required
- Experience with NJ, PA, and/or NY jurisdictions preferred
- Required to obtain adjuster license(s) in the state(s) where assigned to adjust claims
- Licensing must be obtained within the Company-set timeframe and maintained as needed
- Broad knowledge and understanding of the law and claim practices
- Technical claims knowledge

- Ability to communicate with insureds, attorneys, and other relevant parties
