About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Locate underground telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer utilities
Search designated areas for underground utilities
Accurately mark utility locations
Complete required locate documentation
Photograph each locate
Provide clear and complete mark-out services for excavators or property owners
Work independently in the field using a company-provided vehicle
Meet a 48-hour turnaround time on many locates
Work after holidays and some weekends as needed
Take overtime, weekend, and on-call shifts, including nights and weekends, based on business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Previous outdoor experience is a plus
Proficiency with technology
Availability to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
Ability to pass a drug screen for this safety-sensitive position
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Ability to work in confined spaces
Ability to walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
Ability to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
Ability to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints
Ability to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
No prior locating experience is needed
