About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Locate underground telecommunications, electric power, cable TV, gas, water, and sewer utilities correctly, safely, and efficiently
Search designated areas thoroughly for underground utilities
Accurately mark utility locations
Complete necessary locate documentation
Photograph each locate
Work independently in the field using a company-provided vehicle
Provide clear and complete mark-out services for excavators or property owners
Meet 48-hour turnaround times on many locates
Work days after holidays and some weekends as needed
Participate in overtime, weekend, and on-call shifts, including nights and weekends, based on business needs

Requirements

What you’ll need

Able and willing to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Previous outdoor experience is a plus
Proficiency with technology
Available to work overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
Able to pass a drug screen for this safety-sensitive position
Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
Able to work in a confined space
Able to walk, bend, and lift up to 75 lbs.
Able to distinguish colors used to identify wiring and mark underground utilities
Able to read, understand, and reference locate tickets, maps, and prints
Able to communicate clearly with colleagues, customers, contractors, and homeowners
