About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Conduct review and negotiation of university contracts within their delegation of signature authority up to $500,000 in total value, or zero dollar Master Agreements/Pricing Agreements/Continuing Agreements through evaluation of institutional risks in accordance with Florida law, as well as Board of Governors & University policies.
- Facilitate collaborative review of contracts with other campus stakeholders.
- Review, organize and execute amendments and renewals of existing agreements in keeping with the original contract terms.
- Assist in developing, implementing, and maintaining new business processes to improve efficiency including, but not limited to: procurement system enhancements and drafting of university contract templates.
- Support training and development of user community and other Procurement Contract Administrators. Including but not limited to: drafting communications regarding changes to contract policy, updating online web training, updated website guidance, conducting webinars/live training as required. Provide support for duties related to a Contract Assistant I & II position as needed.
- Monitor Agreement Templates for compliance and make suggestions to modify best practices and contract clauses as applicable to align with USF and State policies. Monitor applicable state and federal regulations, policies, and procedures for the University as it relates to procurement and guides campus stakeholders on proper legal usage enabling the department to run as efficient as possible.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree and 2-4 years experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Legal Assistant or Paralegal with corporate law, contracts, litigation, bond finance or general law experience and familiar with legal terminology, document preparation, redlines and negotiations, especially in a fast paced or high volume role and can work independently and train or lead as appropriate.
- Experience in an institution of higher education Contract Management or Procurement Services department.
- Significant knowledge of business best practices, compliance, and contract management.
- A JD, CPPM, CPPO or equivalent certification.
- Experience working with contract or legal AI programs and working with contract management platforms.
