About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support P&C insurance profit and growth targets in assigned states or geographic regions
- Assist in developing strategic vision and tactical plans to expand USAA's product line market share
- Analyze state-specific competitive and financial KPIs to anticipate and react to trends
- Identify opportunities for regional impact, best practices, and innovation across P&C
- Analyze large datasets, state-specific P&L, marketing strategy, and marketing-investment impact
- Answer financial and customer-related questions using SAS, SQL, Tableau, R, and other data sources
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop and execute multi-year state strategies
- Engage with external regulators to bring strategic actions to market
- Work with pricing, underwriting, and claims stakeholders to identify growth opportunities and present key learnings
- Build reports using data tools to monitor business performance and communicate results
- Identify emerging themes and internal and external trends to improve performance and minimize risk
- Evaluate product performance metrics and competitor actions to support regional and countrywide decision-making
- Partner with Government & Industry Relations, attorneys, and Compliance Advisors to manage relationships with regulatory agencies and industry organizations
- Provide guidance and training to team members on processes and procedures
- Ensure business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to risk and compliance policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or Statistics; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
- 4 years of relevant product management experience analyzing data and developing recommendations, or an advanced degree in Business with 2 years of product management experience
- 2 years of Property and Casualty (P&C) experience
- Experience creating product briefings and presenting to executive leadership
- Experience conducting product analysis and developing an in-depth understanding of market dynamics, including competitor underwriting initiatives and rate level analysis
- Knowledge of applicable product-related regulations and risk and compliance requirements
- P&C business acumen, including product management, pricing, underwriting, and product intelligence
- Complex data analytical experience and ability to pull data, analyze trends, and make recommendations to leadership
- Proficiency in Excel, Snowflake, SQL, Tableau, or similar applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Consistent demonstration of leadership behaviors
- US military experience gained through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner
- No visa sponsorship; must not require immigration support now or in the future
