About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Drive adherence to information/data management governance activities, projects, and approaches compliant with established policies and standards
  • Influence business awareness of information/data governance through consulting and communications with business, technology, security, legal, risk, and compliance partners
  • Author or contribute to information governance guidelines, principles, policies, and standards
  • Lead development of governance oversight processes and measurement approaches
  • Enforce adherence through audits, peer reviews, and monitoring of KRIs and KPIs
  • Support multi-year roadmaps and implementation plans for information governance initiatives
  • Apply business-line, channel, application, and process knowledge to develop recommendations satisfying regulatory and internal requirements
  • Create information governance training content
  • Prepare and present formal findings and recommendations across the organization
  • Promote information governance best practices in solution recommendations
  • Facilitate career paths, best practices, mentoring, and maturity growth for the Information Governance community
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control business risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures
  • Monitor and interpret emerging AI regulations, legislation, regulatory guidance, industry standards, and state-level AI laws

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Architecture, Information Management, Information Studies, Information Technology, Risk, Audit, or related technical field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 8+ years of experience in information or data-related practices, including information governance, information management, risk, audit, information architecture, IT, analysis, and reporting
  • Advanced degree in a related field with 6+ years of experience is an alternative qualification
  • 2+ years of strong knowledge and demonstrated ability to create and evolve Data Development and Data Engineering processes
  • 2+ years of operational knowledge of risk management and mitigation frameworks
  • Experience developing Data Governance and Data Management strategies and roadmaps
  • Expert knowledge of industry information/data governance best practices
  • Experience in AI governance, model risk management, data governance, and compliance
  • Understanding of the AI regulatory and legislative landscape, including emerging federal and state-level AI laws, regulations, and guidance
  • Understanding of AI-related data privacy implications, including GLBA, CCPA/CPRA, GDPR, and other applicable privacy regulations
  • Certified AI Governance Professional (AIGP), Information Management Professional (CIMP), Information Governance Professional (IGP), Certified Information Professional, or equivalent industry certification sets candidates apart
  • Financial services, insurance, banking, or other highly regulated industry experience sets candidates apart
  • CDMP certification preferred
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner sets candidates apart
  • Must not require immigration support now or in the future; USAA does not provide visa sponsorship
