About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead development, implementation, and ongoing management of enterprise data policies and standards supporting regulatory compliance and sound data governance
- Translate complex regulatory requirements into actionable data policies, standards, controls, and governance practices
- Drive adherence to information and data management governance activities, projects, and approaches
- Increase business awareness of information and data governance through consulting and communications with business, technology, security, legal, risk, and compliance partners
- Author or contribute to information governance guidelines, principles, policies, and standards
- Lead information governance oversight processes, measurement approaches, audits, peer reviews, and KRI/KPI monitoring
- Influence and support multi-year roadmaps and implementation plans for information governance initiatives
- Apply business, channel, application, and process knowledge to recommendations addressing regulatory and internal information governance requirements
- Create information governance training content and establish learning objectives
- Prepare and present formal findings and recommendations to all organizational levels
- Incorporate information governance best practices into solution recommendations
- Facilitate career paths, best practices, mentoring, and maturity growth for the Information Governance community
- Ensure business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled according to risk and compliance policies and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree in Information Architecture, Information Management, Information Studies, Information Technology, Risk, Audit, or related technical field; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
- 8+ years of experience in information or data-related practices, including information governance, information management, risk, audit, information architecture, IT, analysis and reporting; alternatively, an advanced degree with 6+ years of such experience
- 2+ years of demonstrated ability to create and evolve Data Development and Data Engineering processes
- 2+ years of operational knowledge of risk management and mitigation frameworks
- Experience developing Data Governance and Data Management strategies and roadmaps
- Expert knowledge of industry information/data governance best practices
- Experience developing and delivering executive-level and/or board-level reporting related to data governance, regulatory risk, compliance, or policy adherence
- Experience with regulatory reporting, data controls, information risk, compliance, privacy, and audit readiness
- CIMP, IGP, Certified Information Professional, or equivalent industry certification is a differentiator
- Financial services, insurance, banking, or other highly regulated industry experience is a differentiator
- CDMP certification preferred
- US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner is a differentiator
- Must not require visa sponsorship or immigration support now or in the future, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT Training Plans
