About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Translate business needs into actionable product requirements for successful solution delivery
- Create and manage product features using Jira and Clarity
- Partner with Agile teams to decompose features into user stories and define acceptance criteria
- Maintain prioritized product backlogs for one or more Agile teams
- Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing prioritization
- Collaborate with technology teams and guide product delivery from concept through implementation
- Understand business strategy and vision and write, refine, accept, and prioritize stories and features
- Review and accept IT and business development outputs against acceptance criteria
- Represent the business and customer perspective throughout the product delivery cycle
- Participate in cross-functional teams to develop, execute, and release products aligned with roadmaps
- Define and document business processes with sponsors, stakeholders, and IT
- Prepare the business for change and provide tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk
- Oversee development, testing, and controls across internal and external technologies
- Seek opportunities to enhance and advance the business development/execution function
- Coach and mentor other Product Owners
- Lead development across multiple teams at project or program level
- Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
- 6+ years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis, or directly related supported business operations/product line
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, applicable databases, and product management tools
- Advanced knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and SAFe technical software delivery methodologies
- Proficiency using Jira for backlog management, feature and story creation, and workflow tracking
- Skill in breaking down larger features into smaller, actionable user stories
- Proven ability to contribute actively to an Agile delivery team
- Ability to independently gather business requirements, process flows, and use cases and deliver business capabilities within approved methodology
- Experience writing user stories and following the development process through user story acceptance
- Experience analyzing business requirements and identifying opportunities to drive decisions and streamline business processes
- Ability to work in accordance with risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements
- Advanced SAFe environment experience preferred
- SAFe certification is a plus
- Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or another highly regulated industry
- Claims background with an understanding of how data and analytics drive the business
- U.S. military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
- Must not require visa sponsorship or immigration support now or in the future
