About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Translate business needs into actionable product requirements
  • Create and manage product features using Jira and Clarity
  • Partner with Agile teams to decompose features into user stories and define acceptance criteria
  • Maintain a prioritized product backlog
  • Facilitate backlog refinement, sprint planning, and ongoing prioritization
  • Collaborate with technology teams and guide product delivery from concept through implementation
  • Understand business strategy and vision, then write, refine, accept, and prioritize stories and features
  • Review and accept IT and/or business development outputs against acceptance criteria
  • Represent the business and customers throughout the product delivery cycle
  • Collaborate with UX partners, designers, business analysts, developers, testers, and others to develop, execute, and release products
  • Define and document business processes with sponsors, stakeholders, and IT
  • Prepare the business for change and provide tactics and metrics for benefits, adoption, and risk
  • Oversee development, testing, and controls across internal and external technologies
  • Enhance and advance the business development/execution function
  • Coach and mentor other Product Owners
  • Lead development across multiple teams at project or program level
  • Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
  • 6+ years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis, or directly related supported business operations/product line
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office products, applicable databases, and product management tools
  • Advanced knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, and SAFe technical software delivery methodologies
  • Proficiency using Jira for backlog management, feature and story creation, and workflow tracking
  • Skill in breaking down larger features into smaller, actionable user stories
  • Ability to contribute actively to an Agile delivery team and foster teamwork and open communication
  • Ability to independently gather business requirements, process flows, and use cases; develop and deliver business capabilities; write user stories; and follow development through user story acceptance
  • Experience analyzing business requirements and identifying opportunities to drive decisions and streamline business processes in accordance with risk management frameworks and regulatory requirements
  • Advanced experience in a SAFe environment preferred
  • SAFe certification is a plus
  • Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or another highly regulated industry
  • US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner
  • Must not require visa sponsorship or immigration support, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT Training Plans
