About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Consult with data scientists and business partners on ML model development and implementation approaches
Provide technical feedback on ML solutions within the technical lead community
Lead the full machine learning engineering lifecycle, including analysis, solution design, data pipeline engineering, testing, deployment, scheduling, application integration, production support, and API development
Support GenAI applications, ML frameworks/libraries, and ML models
Configure, manage, and set up AI/ML infrastructure in cloud and on-premises environments
Work with AWS, GCP, and graph databases
Work with architects to influence and define ML model implementation patterns in complex environments
Design and implement complex machine learning, artificial intelligence, and GenAI technical solutions
Create proofs of concept and prototypes for highly complex solutions and present them to leadership
Assist in setting technical direction for the team
Mentor team members
Identify, measure, monitor, and control risks associated with business activities in accordance with risk and compliance policies

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of relevant education and/or experience
6+ years of machine learning engineering, data engineering, or software development experience implementing data solutions
Extensive programming experience using Python, SQL, Java, etc.
Extensive data engineering experience
Experience delivering end-to-end machine learning and AI/GenAI solutions
Experience building, integrating, and optimizing data pipelines
Experience curating and modeling data for data marts, data lakes, and operational analytic applications
Experience completing multiple projects using Agile methodology to implement ML models
Experience leveraging MLOps principles and implementing automated workflows
Demonstrated technical leadership experience
Demonstrated ability to mentor junior technical team members
Knowledge of data science principles and methodologies
Knowledge of stochastic modeling, machine learning, or other advanced mathematical techniques
Effective communication skills and ability to present complex technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences
Expert knowledge of at least one cloud platform and relevant components, such as AWS SageMaker
Programming skills using FastAPI, OpenShift, Snowflake or similar platforms, Java, etc.
Experience in financial services, insurance, banking, or another highly regulated industry
Experience mentoring junior developers and providing technical leadership
US military experience through military service or as a military spouse/domestic partner
Must not require immigration support or visa sponsorship, including H-1B, TN, or STEM OPT training plans
