About the role

  • Develops, manages, grows, and nurtures relationships between USAA and external strategic suppliers
  • Onboards and provides operational support of strategic partner relationships
  • Identifies opportunities for growth and builds strong relationships with key strategic partners
  • Monitors strategic account partners satisfaction
  • Applies data-driven insights to influence strategies to drive the achievement of business goals
  • Responsible for timely and appropriate resolution of escalations from strategic supplier partners
  • Partners with teams to work with research, analytics, finance, and staff area leaders
  • Validates and codes moderate size and complexity invoices, ensuring accuracy and budget adherence
  • Identifies opportunities to document and facilitate improvements to processes
  • Conducts periodic meetings with strategic account personnel to foster relationships and uncover opportunities for operational efficiencies
  • Serves as a peer mentor and on-the-job trainer for other team members
  • Ensure risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
  • 6 years of experience in supplier relationship management, including supplier governance, procurement and/or supply chain management experience
  • Advanced knowledge and experience with applicable industry and products for the assigned functional area
  • Advanced data analysis skills
  • Accountability for complex tasks and/or projects required
  • Demonstrated experience prioritizing and managing complex tasks and/or projects
  • Strong relationship management skills with demonstrated ability to influence decisions at senior leadership levels
  • Strong issue resolution and follow-up skills
  • Strong executive-level communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced level of business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices, regulatory requirements, and emerging trends required
  • Travel may be required.
