Attorney

• Responsible for leading a team of attorneys and/or legal support staff who provide and coordinate the provision of legal advice, counsel and services to operating areas
• Provides legal counsel on issues regarding products, services, and processes to ensure they are executed in accordance with business objectives, and legal and regulatory requirements
• Identifies and implements procedures within their team to enhance productivity and assures ongoing compliance
• Ensures legal risks are effectively identified, measured, monitored and controlled
• Optimal resource utilization and appropriate professional staff development for all attorneys and support staff
• Provides counsel to enable the client to implement strategic initiatives, influencing decisions and managing risks to achieve strategic goals
• Collaborates with clients and other enterprise stakeholders and leads the execution of legal strategy, considering USAA’s business strategy and regulatory requirements
• Proactively identifies opportunities to improve operational effectiveness including developing and implementing best practices
