Referral Coordinator, Specialty Pharmacy
US ClaroReferral Coordinator managing specialty prescriptions for Lumicera's pharmacy operations. Works remotely to facilitate prescription referrals and improve patient care communication.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Initiate prescription prior authorizations on behalf of prescriber’s offices
- Coordinate and confirm with patients’ prescription deliveries
- Initiate contact and create new potential clinic/prescriber relationships
- Communicate current and relevant prescription, insurance and financial needs as they relate to appropriate pharmacists, providers, clinical support staff and patients
- Interacts with clinic employees, including but not limited to pharmacists, clinical staff, fiscal personnel, department managers, access services staff, coding staff, and billing assistants
- External contacts include but are not limited to third party payers, manufacturers, prescription benefit management companies, external pharmacy personnel, and referring providers and their support staff
- Serves as the liaison between the medical staff, outpatient pharmacies, insurance providers and patients to improve communication and continuity of care
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
What you’ll need- High school diploma or GED, some college preferred
- Certified CPhT or licensed Medical Assistant preferred
- One year experience in specialty pharmacy or medical office preferred
- Participate in, adhere to, and support compliance program objectives
- The ability to consistently interact cooperatively and respectfully with other employees.
