About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Installs, configures, and maintains network hardware, software, and Azure components including firewalls, routers, switches, VPNs, Virtual WAN (VWAN), firmware updates, and cabling.
- Performs routine backups, system updates, patching, and upgrades to maintain network integrity and security.
- Monitors network performance, system alerts, and security logs to identify and resolve potential issues proactively.
- Diagnoses and resolves network problems when alerted by users or automated monitoring systems.
- Maintains accurate records of network configurations, procedures, and activities for compliance and troubleshooting purposes.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- 2 years of experience in network administration or a similar role.
- CompTIA Network+ certification, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, and network protocols.
- Experience with Azure networking (VWAN, VPN Gateway, NSGs).
- Familiarity with firewalls, IDS/IPS, and network security best practices.
- Excellent troubleshooting and documentation skills.
- Experience with cloud networking and hybrid environments preferred.
- Knowledge of scripting for automation (PowerShell, Python) preferred.
- Familiarity with network monitoring tools and SIEM platforms preferred.
