About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Engage in discussions and decision-making for new features and platform evolution
Collaborate with the product team to design solutions for stakeholder features
Deliver the full lifecycle of deployable features, including code, configuration, documentation, and support
Contribute to roadmaps and process development to deliver features and evolve architecture
Collaborate with QA and Platform Engineering to test code and keep integrated testing environments unblocked
Help mature Nuuly’s platform into a stable, scalable, and robust backbone for future innovations
Lead design and requirements grooming, drive communication between teams, and provide critical feedback and mentorship

Requirements

What you’ll need

4 years or more experience with server-side development projects
Demonstrable experience making compelling team contributions
Knowledge of one or more server-side object-oriented programming languages
Basic knowledge of streaming data, distributed system design, and messaging technologies and patterns
Experience and enthusiasm for testing and test-driven development
Ability to quickly familiarize yourself with an existing codebase and toolset
Ability to propose and walk through solutions in informal tech leadership discussions
Experience with streaming or asynchronous data processing
Experience with major cloud providers such as GCP, AWS, or Azure
Experience with web services standards and technologies such as HTTP, JSON, and REST
Operational knowledge of Java, Kotlin, Scala, or another JVM language
Experience with at least one mainstream distributed system such as Kafka, Spark, Storm, or Cassandra
