About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead, mentor, and manage the design team
  • Create innovative and commercial seasonal collections and ongoing fast-turn product
  • Collaborate with the Executive Creative Director, Brand Director, and DMMs on design execution and business objectives
  • Partner with the Executive Creative Director on seasonal inspiration, concept direction, and trends
  • Guide Designer Teams in developing styles aligned with seasonal concepts and Buying team needs
  • Collaborate with other category Design Directors on ideas, outfitting, assortment balance, and seasonal design direction
  • Collaborate with the Print & Color team on seasonal print, color direction, and assortment
  • Facilitate the seasonal development calendar with the Design Manager
  • Prepare for and participate in relevant product meetings
  • Manage team budgets and meet monthly budget requirements
  • Oversee seasonal assortment branding and build, improve, and elevate brand identity

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Highly creative with a strong point of view
  • Outstanding taste level and ability to recognize, forecast, and translate industry trend direction
  • Exceptional leadership skills, with ability to direct Designers positively and strategically while nurturing creativity
  • Strong understanding of retail business to identify product opportunities and offer innovative design solutions
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with partners in Buying, Production, and Design
  • Outstanding creative talent and taste level
  • Expert technical knowledge of product, raw materials, manufacturing techniques, and processes
  • Strong understanding of the Anthropologie customer aesthetic and product
  • At least 10 years of experience in Apparel Design
