About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Support the daily operational functions of the Weddings buying area
  • Support the buying team in managing overall merchandise flow
  • Develop cross-functional relationships with distribution center, design, production, market, and internal partners
  • Partner with the Buyer and/or Associate Buyer on necessary tasks
  • Manage web photo sample request process
  • Support product development through sample management
  • Request, organize, prioritize, track, ship, receive, and return presentation samples
  • Communicate product changes and updates to cross-functional teams and critical partners
  • Conduct weekly web audits to verify styles and colors are activated and identify errors/issues
  • Read customer reviews and report findings in internal Monday morning meetings
  • Become an expert in the product assortment and provide information on product launches and sample locations
  • Manage meeting requests and provide agendas and recaps
  • Contribute data- and perspective-driven comments to business meetings
  • Suggest process, organization, and efficiency improvements
  • Help teammates during downtime or high-demand periods

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 1–2 years of retail experience or internship
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment with a sense of urgency
  • Understanding of customer wants and needs and ability to identify appropriate products/trends
  • Ability to prioritize projects and handle multiple tasks
  • Creative thinking
  • Rudimentary understanding of retail math
  • Ability to maintain a positive attitude
  • Ability to organize, problem-solve, multitask, and follow through on projects
  • Flexible as team priorities shift
