About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Log, date, and organize incoming seasonal lab dips, knit-downs, strike-offs, and trim submits.
- Maintain the physical FP Movement color library and seasonal color standard archives.
- Prepare and distribute seasonal color rings and standard swatches to Design, Print & Pattern, and Merchandising teams.
- Update digital PLM systems with color codes, names, and approval statuses.
- Assist the Color Designer in evaluating lab dips and trims against physical standards under standard lightbox conditions.
- Draft and input actionable color comments into PLM systems for vendor communication.
- Track color submits and flag late or problematic dips to the Color Designer and Production team.
- Communicate with overseas vendors and mills regarding resubmits, color comments, and deadlines.
- Partner with Print & Pattern to align solid ground colors with seasonal printed artworks.
- Assist in building physical color presentation boards for seasonal meetings.
- Pull initial Pantone, CSI, or vintage-reference swatches during palette development.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 1–2 years of experience or a strong internship in color or textile product development.
- Excellent color perception and a strong eye for detail.
- Must be able to pass a Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Color Vision Test.
- Highly system-driven, organized, and able to manage hundreds of physical and digital submits simultaneously.
- Experience evaluating lab dips, making color comments, managing samples, and/or communicating with vendors is a plus.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Illustrator and Photoshop.
- Familiarity with PLM or similar product tracking software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining a positive attitude.
