Service Assistant
URBN (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie Group, Free People & Nuuly)Service Assistant in a garden-to-table restaurant delivering food and beverages, maintaining dining experiences. Collaborating with team members to ensure excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver food and beverages accurately, with an understanding of menu details.
- Assist with guest needs and relay questions or concerns to the appropriate team member.
- Clear and reset tables within 3 minutes of guest departure.
- Assist with packaging takeout orders.
- Maintain awareness of the dining room and proactively assist where needed.
- Keep kitchen expo areas, service stations, and dining room clean and organized.
- Polish and restock silverware, glassware, and plateware throughout the shift.
- Monitor and remove trash and recycling regularly.
- Ensure safe and clear walkways for guests and staff at all times.
- Memorize table and seat numbers to aid in efficient service.
- Learn menu details, ingredients, and allergen protocols.
- Communicate guest concerns clearly to team leads.
- Assist FOH staff during high-volume periods.
- Help with opening and closing duties, including setting/resetting the dining room.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred, but not necessary.
- Polished, professional appearance with a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important.
- Flexible availability preferred- may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays.
- Physically able to: Stand and walk for extended periods
- Bend, reach, lift up to 50 lbs.
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
