Service Assistant
URBN (Urban Outfitters, Anthropologie Group, Free People & Nuuly)Service Assistant providing timely table service and ensuring a clean dining environment at Terrain Cafe. Thrives in fast-paced, guest-facing hospitality setting.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Deliver food and beverages accurately, with an understanding of menu details
- Assist with guest needs and relay questions or concerns to the appropriate team member
- Clear and reset tables within 3 minutes of guest departure
- Assist with packaging takeout orders
- Maintain awareness of the dining room and proactively assist where needed
- Keep kitchen expo areas, service stations, and dining room clean and organized
- Polish and restock silverware, glassware, and plateware throughout the shift
- Monitor and remove trash and recycling regularly
- Ensure safe and clear walkways for guests and staff at all times
- Memorize table and seat numbers to aid in efficient service
- Learn menu details, ingredients, and allergen protocols
- Communicate guest concerns clearly to team leads
- Assist FOH staff during high-volume periods
- Help with opening and closing duties, including setting/resetting the dining room
Requirements
What you’ll need- Previous restaurant or food service experience preferred, but not necessary
- This is an entry level position where anyone with a passion for details will thrive
- Polished, professional appearance with a positive, team-oriented attitude
- Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are important
- Flexible availability preferred- may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays
- Physically able to: Stand and walk for extended periods, Bend, reach, lift up to 50 lbs., Work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
