About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- An Equipment Operator is responsible for fulfilling warehouse orders using warehousing equipment such as powered industrial trucks (PIT) like forklifts, order pickers, or pallet drivers.
- They may also need to support their team on the warehouse floor, working together to ensure customer orders are processed efficiently.
- Prioritize safety and compliance standards while performing job duties and operating warehousing equipment.
- Able to respectfully work in a team environment, in addition to working independently.
- Function well in a multi-task environment; comprehend and follow work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards.
- Able to operate department-specific technology to execute job tasks i.e. RF scanners or desktop computers and touchscreens to efficiently track the location of products.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized work area.
- All other responsibilities as assigned by operational leadership.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must be 18 years or older
- High school degree or GED a plus
- Comprehend and follow work instructions to meet productivity and quality standards
- Warehousing or manufacturing experience a plus
- Forklift or heavy machinery experience a plus
- Able to operate department-specific technology to execute job tasks i.e. RF scanners or desktop computers and touchscreens
- Maintain acceptable attendance and must be able to work overtime as required
- Able to stand and walk for considerable distance throughout a shift
- Climb, balance, kneel, crouch, or crawl for extended periods
- Reach, pull, push, and lift freight and other objects of various shapes, sizes, and weights to 50 pounds
- Operate warehouse equipment safely as required for the position (i.e., forklift, pallet jack, cherry picker) which requires coordinated movements.
