About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Create unique and innovative sweater dress product relative to the seasonal concepts and appropriate for the Anthropologie customer
  • Work closely with Assistant Design Director and Senior Design Director to complete line plan requirements on a seasonal basis ensuring that the product is consistent with the market trends and business strategy
  • Research emerging trends and inspiration as they relate to the Anthropologie product and seasonal concept direction
  • Contribute to finding inspiration based upon the concept direction
  • Develop knit down swatches to push product forward each season
  • Manage yarn library and panel requests
  • Use multiple design tools including mocking, sketching, cadding, and image creation to support product design
  • Partner with PD to globally source yarns & raw materials and develop them within pricing guidelines
  • Execute sweater dress tech packs and stitch layouts.
  • Collaborate with Technical Design to set-up specifications and construction for confirmed silhouettes, and communicate style details to PD
  • Partner with PD and communicate with vendors on the status of styles in development on a daily basis to ensure product execution meets design specifications
  • Track approvals with PD and vendors
  • Attend weekly fittings and all relevant design meetings
  • Travel to factories for development and execution of programs as needed

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 5-7 years of progressive experience in fashion design
  • Strong understanding of fashion trends and deep knowledge of the Anthropologie customer
  • Expert-level technical knowledge of apparel construction
  • Expert-level understanding of fabrics and trims, supported by strong vendor and resource relationships
  • Extensive knowledge of fabric treatments, wash processes, and dye techniques
  • Extensive experience with manufacturing techniques and end-to-end production processes.
