About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the research and development for the Home Accessories Design team.
  • Bridge the worlds of trend forecasting, material innovation, and the balance of form and function.
  • Scout innovative new techniques, experiment with materials, and push the boundaries of home design.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, ensuring products are uniquely "only-at-Anthro" while remaining cost-conscious and manufacturable.
  • Source inspiration for new ideas, materials, and techniques across a broad range of influences.
  • Partner with vendor base to develop new materials and techniques, creating usable swatches, mock-ups, and reference samples.
  • Present relevant quality references to the design team and deliver compelling concepts during sketch reviews and seasonal milestones for the executive team.
  • Create and maintain a consistent design language and aesthetic standards across all product categories.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as a product designer, with a specific focus on home accessories or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in bringing innovative, commercially viable products to market.
  • Strong understanding of materials, techniques, manufacturing processes, and construction methods.
  • Advanced skills in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.).
  • Experience with prototyping techniques (e.g., 3D printing, hand-modeling, or clay modeling).
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • A keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for creating beautiful, functional, and storytelling products.
