About the role
- Lead and develop a team of event managers and service staff
- Collaborate with the Director of Operations, Sales Manager, and Executive Chef to reach quarterly goals
- Manage the planning and execution of events, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and liquor laws
- Supervise banquet staff, porters, and bartenders during events
- Conduct detail meetings to finalize floor plans, menus, and run-of-show
- Build and maintain strong client relationships
- Oversee venue and event operations including payroll and budgeting
Requirements
- A minimum of 5 yrs. experience as a team manager in a comparable restaurant or event environment
- TIP/RAMP Certification, or willing to become certified
- Serve Safe Certified, or willing to become certified
- Proven track record of success in event management
- Knowledgeable when it comes to reading a P&L and understanding budgets
- Strong work ethic and excellent multi-tasking skills
- Personable and professional demeanor
- Ability to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 10 hours), nights, weekends and holidays.
