About the role

  • Creating fresh, innovative, and commercial seasonal concept collections as well as ongoing fast turn products and collections
  • Collaborate with the overall Concept Team to ensure outstanding concept direction while meeting business objectives
  • Partner with your team to present to Sr Director on seasonal inspiration, concept direction and trend
  • Be vocal of conceptual styles that support the seasonal designs and fulfill the needs of the business as outlined by the Buying team
  • Work closely with other category Designers to cross pollinate ideas, outfitting, assortment balance and maintain seasonal design direction
  • Collaborate with Textiles Print team on seasonal print & color direction and assortment
  • Pitch trend color palettes to complement each season concept for all categories
  • Maintain deadlines in partnership with your manager
  • Prepare for and participate in all relevant product meetings
  • Identify raw materials and work ahead with design and PD leads to ensure newness is achieved
  • Help manage the seasonal assortment and work to build, improve, and elevate brand identity
  • Bring together trends for Home, Decorate, Lifestyle and Tech
  • Research and Balance ideas across customer types

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience in Home Design
  • Outstanding taste level with the ability to recognize, forecast, and translate
  • Ability to use AI as a tool to enhance presentations
  • Strong understanding of retail business to identify product opportunities and offer innovative design solutions
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with partners in Buying, Production, and Design
  • Outstanding creative talent and taste level with the ability to recognize, forecast, and translate industry trend direction
  • Strong understanding of the Urban Outfitters customer aesthetic and product
  • Strong Graphic Design background
  • Ability to keep up on technology.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Design related to Home products preferred.
