About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Support teachers to promote and develop the infant and toddler in various aspects.
Ensure learning environments are nurturing and organized.
Provide educational support and maintain age-appropriate classroom management.
Build relationships with families to promote child development and well-being.
Perform daily playground health and safety monitoring.
Detect and report signs of illness or unusual behavior of children.
Ensure adherence to safety standards.
Assist with food services and classroom needs as requested.
Conduct daily routine cleaning within the classroom.
Set-up and clean-up playground daily.
Conduct other related activities as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

High School Diploma or GED.
Upon hire, agree to enroll and complete a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) program.
Bilingual (English and Spanish).
Basic computer skills.
Must have a valid Driver’s License, Personal Vehicle and Liability Insurance required.
In states in which public transportation is utilized a valid state ID is required.
Child Development Associate (CDA) credentialed in Infant and Toddler (current) - Preferred.
Associate Degree, or other qualifying education in Child Development, Early childhood Education, or similar - Preferred.
Minimum two (2) years, recent, paid, and successful experience working in a childcare or preschool setting - Preferred.
Knowledge of Head Start Performance Standards - Preferred.
