About the role

  • Accountable for the safe and reliable operations of assigned solar assets, following corporate HSSE policies and procedures.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive management strategies for solar assets, including performance optimization, risk management, and financial planning.
  • Oversee O&M service providers and contractors to ensure assets meet or exceed performance targets.
  • Ensure compliance with project agreements, regulatory and state requirements, and track owner/seller responsibilities in contracts (PPA, land, interconnection, lender, permits, O&M, warranty).
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams including finance, pre-construction, construction, engineering, reliability engineering, and legal.
  • Work with safety teams to maintain and improve safe project operations and complete required safety reporting and compliance.
  • Conduct budget analyses, reporting, forecasting, and budget variance activities for assigned assets.
  • Coordinate settlements and power marketing with third parties and ensure compliance with regulatory and commercial obligations.
  • Lead internal and external reporting efforts and track insurance requirements and coordinate claims processes.
  • Maintain relationships with offtake partners, RTO, landowners, lenders, and service providers to ensure completion of scope of work.
  • Assist in origination of O&M services (RFP to Contracting) to support project financing and coordinate hand-off from construction to operation.
  • Travel to project sites (up to 25%) to verify project condition and observe vendor safety and best practices.
  • Manage multiple solar generation assets and perform other assigned responsibilities as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Finance, or related engineering science.
  • At least 5 years of professional experience in solar asset management or a related field, with a track record of success in managing large-scale solar assets.
  • Strong knowledge of solar energy technology, finance, and operations.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to work successfully across different levels of an organization.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational skills and able to shift and set new priorities in moment’s notice.
  • Self-motivated, high energy, and has proven leadership skills in challenging environments.
  • Excellent technical, analytical, computer, and oral and written communication skills. Strong in Microsoft Office Suite, advanced knowledge of MS Excel
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record to support travel requirements and company operations.
