About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage Licence to Alter applications from start to finish
- Review leases, contracts and supporting legal documentation
- Draft notices, licences and letters of consent
- Review architectural drawings and other supporting information
- Liaise with solicitors, surveyors, engineers, leaseholders and property managers
- Coordinate inspections, documentation and final sign-off
- Maintain accurate records and ensure matters progress within required timeframes
- Support HMO and other property licensing applications where required
- Support management of Licence to Alter applications across UK property portfolios
Requirements
What you’ll need- South African LLB or BProc qualification
- Some experience working within a law firm or legal environment
- Strong written communication and legal drafting skills
- Ability to understand and interpret legal documentation
- Excellent attention to detail and organisation
- Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines
- Confident communicating with a range of professional stakeholders
- Good Microsoft Office skills
- Must reside in the Western Cape
- Applicants must be based in Cape Town or surrounding areas
- Reliable internet connectivity
- Ability to attend occasional in-person meetings
- Legal authorisation to work in South Africa
- Property or leasehold experience would be an advantage, but is not essential
