About the role
- Drive evaluation and model development within Oura’s AI Advisor and custom model initiatives
- Design and implement evaluation systems and tooling to validate Oura’s custom AI models and Advisor
- Develop novel evaluation methods to measure grounding, reliability, and actionability of LLM and agentic systems
- Build and optimize custom AI models through fine-tuning, knowledge distillation, and quantization
- Partner with Product and Engineering teams to balance cutting-edge research with practical engineering impact
- Lead initiatives that reduce Oura’s dependency on external AI SaaS providers and accelerate model development
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in production AI/ML work
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML/AI frameworks
- Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS, CDK)
- Experience with fine-tuning, evaluation frameworks, and deployment of LLMs or agentic systems
- Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive product vision
- Initiative and self-direction in research and scientific exploration
- Preferred: Experience leading AI projects
- Preferred: Experience building AI agents and deploying them to production
- Preferred: Experience building multimodal GenAI systems
