About the role

  • Define and execute the overall test strategy for Oura’s software platforms (mobile, backend, and data systems).
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing software test team. Driving culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with development, data science and product teams to align on test objectives and quality standard
  • Balance managerial responsibilities with technical hands-on work
  • Design, drive and implement automated test frameworks and tools to enable reliable and scalable testing (e.g., Pytest, Appium).
  • Contribute directly to test automation, CI/CD integrations, and test data pipelines
  • Visualize data and metrics to communicate test coverage and quality status to stakeholders.
  • Define KPIs and dashboards for test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness.
  • Champion quality standards, ensuring all teams adhere to best practices and processes.
  • Introduce AI-assisted testing methods and advanced analytics to enhance test effectiveness and reliability
  • Establish best practices for regression testing, exploratory testing, and release validation.
  • Be the technical go-to person for test automation, tooling, and framework design decisions
  • Coach engineers on code quality, maintainability, and automation principles.
  • Evaluate and adopt new test technologies and methodologies to scale testing for future Oura products and services.

Requirements

  • Proven experience leading software testing efforts and team in a product-driven environment.
  • Strong hands-on background in test automation and scripting (Python required).
  • Experience with mobile app testing (iOS & Android), API testing, and cloud-based backend testing.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
  • Strong analytical and debugging skills with a problem-solving mindset.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with LLMs and AI-driven dev/test tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, Cursor)
