About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Supervise student seating arrangements and assist with student direction and seating allocation
- Verify student identification and manage examination materials, including attendance forms and question papers
- Monitor student behaviour and address inquiries during examinations, ensuring compliance with examination regulations
- Operate basic audiovisual equipment and computers within examination venues
- Perform miscellaneous duties as instructed by the Chief Supervisor or Senior Administrative Officers, Examinations
- Set up and prepare electronic equipment and devices for digital examinations as a Tech Assistant
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues on students' devices
- Log technical issues promptly using a personal smartphone during exam sessions
- Support students to sit examinations under optimal conditions according to University assessment and examination policies and procedures
Requirements
What you’ll need- Current coursework students at UQ or any other institution are not eligible
- Higher Degree Research students are eligible to apply
- Physical fitness and mental agility to stand or walk for extended periods
- Ability to climb stairs and lift items up to 5 kg
- Adaptability and flexibility in a dynamic examination environment
- Reliability and ability to work as part of a team
- Proficiency in technology and computer literacy
- Ability to use email, basic audiovisual equipment, and online forms
- Effective professional communication with students from diverse backgrounds, including students with disabilities
- Availability to work Monday to Saturday during examination seasons
- Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality, customer-focused service in demanding situations
- Unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of the appointment
- May be required to complete criminal history and education background checks
