About the role

  • Lead business communication with clients who wish to introduce products and services
  • Drive business development through collaboration with business partners
  • Identify client needs and issues and propose solutions to resolve them accurately in the context of Japanese business environment
  • Build high-trust relationships and respond quickly via face-to-face collaboration such as client visits and business trips
  • Perform tasks related to business development initiatives, such as developing business partnerships, reviewing and expanding business areas
  • Lead initial communication with potential customers who wish to introduce Upstage's products and services
  • Identify the current status, issues, and improvement goals of potential customers
  • Communicate and mediate between potential customers and internal related teams
  • Define requirements/requests from potential customers, such as reporting and issue handling, and resolve them in a timely manner
  • Understand issues and improvement points that arise from the customer's perspective after introducing products and services and communicate them internally

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant business development experience (応募書類作成時に経験期間を別途記載してください)
  • Ability to communicate smoothly and collaborate particularly with clients and internal related teams
  • Ability to adapt to a rapidly changing technological environment and work in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to analyze, structure, and present solutions to customer needs and issues
  • Knowledge and understanding of business applications and solution sales
  • Native-level Japanese and business-level English proficiency
  • Someone who can have offline meetings with customers in Japan
  • Preferred: Experience in tech-based consulting, business development, or sales
  • Preferred: Direct/indirect experience with AI/ML-based products and services or possess AI-related knowledge
  • Preferred: Experience with B2B tech products and services
  • Preferred: Experience in cross-collaboration initiatives with various stakeholders (clients, internal development, UX/UI, research teams, etc.)
