About the role

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand UPM’s presence in the packaging paper market, focusing on Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland
  • Manage and grow complex accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiation.
  • Manage global key accounts for select packaging paper customers
  • Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities with both existing and new customers in the packaging paper segment
  • Provide regular reporting on sales activities, KPIs, and market trends
  • Gather and communicate market intelligence, customer needs, and value chain insights to inform product and service development
  • Collaborate with UPM sales teams, supply chain, technical sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support for customers
  • Apply UPM’s pricing and service level policies and document agreements
  • Use digital tools (CRM, analytics, social media) to drive sales effectiveness, customer engagement, and support digital transformation initiatives
  • Foster strong internal networks and work effectively with colleagues across Europe and the US

Requirements

  • You have university degree and minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing or business development, preferably in specialty papers or related industries
  • You have a broad knowledge of industrial market (B2B), product and services, sustainability and sales processes
  • E xperience in the packaging industry is a plus
  • You know and understand sales tools and methodologies, and have a proven track record in account management
  • You are proficient in commercial, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • You are highly skilled at prioritising and self-leadership.
  • You network with ease
  • You have knowledge of change management
  • You have a strong command of the English and German languages, ideally also Polish
  • You are proficient with digital sales tools (e.g. CRM systems, Microsoft Office, SAP, Oracle, Salesforce)
  • You have wide availability for travel.
