About the role
- Develop and execute sales strategies to expand UPM’s presence in the packaging paper market, focusing on Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Poland
- Manage and grow complex accounts, including budgeting, forecasting, and contract negotiation.
- Manage global key accounts for select packaging paper customers
- Identify, qualify, and secure new business opportunities with both existing and new customers in the packaging paper segment
- Provide regular reporting on sales activities, KPIs, and market trends
- Gather and communicate market intelligence, customer needs, and value chain insights to inform product and service development
- Collaborate with UPM sales teams, supply chain, technical sales, and customer service teams to ensure smooth onboarding and ongoing support for customers
- Apply UPM’s pricing and service level policies and document agreements
- Use digital tools (CRM, analytics, social media) to drive sales effectiveness, customer engagement, and support digital transformation initiatives
- Foster strong internal networks and work effectively with colleagues across Europe and the US
Requirements
- You have university degree and minimum 5-7 years of relevant experience in sales, marketing or business development, preferably in specialty papers or related industries
- You have a broad knowledge of industrial market (B2B), product and services, sustainability and sales processes
- E xperience in the packaging industry is a plus
- You know and understand sales tools and methodologies, and have a proven track record in account management
- You are proficient in commercial, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- You are highly skilled at prioritising and self-leadership.
- You network with ease
- You have knowledge of change management
- You have a strong command of the English and German languages, ideally also Polish
- You are proficient with digital sales tools (e.g. CRM systems, Microsoft Office, SAP, Oracle, Salesforce)
- You have wide availability for travel.
