About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Design, develop, and maintain dbt (Data Build Tool) transformations to ensure clean, well-structured, and efficient data models
Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and enhance data quality
Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations and queries for performance and efficiency
Support the processing of high-volume and streaming data using tools such as Apache Spark and Kafka
Build and maintain BI-ready datasets that support data analysts and business stakeholders
Work closely with business teams to translate requirements into data models and transformations
Build and iterate on AI/ML models such as churn prediction and forecasting, from feature preparation through to deployment
Provide support and guidance on data visualization tools and ensure business users have access to trusted data sources
Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting layers
Maintain comprehensive documentation of data transformations, models, and governance practices to support workflow automation and trusted data access.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field)
2+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a data-driven environment
Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, as well as NoSQL databases like MongoDB
2+ years of hands-on experience in Python, including data manipulation, scripting, and automation
Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, as well as data transformation frameworks such as dbt
Experience with distributed data processing tools such as Apache Spark, and streaming/event platforms like Apache Kafka, will be considered a plus
Experience working with BI tools such as Apache Superset, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
Experience with AI/ML techniques (e.g., churn prediction, forecasting, classification models) will be considered a strong plus
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS is a plus
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
