About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Design, develop, and maintain dbt (Data Build Tool) transformations to ensure clean, well-structured, and efficient data models
- Collaborate with data engineers to optimize data pipelines and enhance data quality
- Develop and optimize SQL-based transformations and queries for performance and efficiency
- Support the processing of high-volume and streaming data using tools such as Apache Spark and Kafka
- Build and maintain BI-ready datasets that support data analysts and business stakeholders
- Work closely with business teams to translate requirements into data models and transformations
- Build and iterate on AI/ML models such as churn prediction and forecasting, from feature preparation through to deployment
- Provide support and guidance on data visualization tools and ensure business users have access to trusted data sources
- Ensure data accuracy, integrity, and consistency across all reporting layers
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of data transformations, models, and governance practices to support workflow automation and trusted data access.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field)
- 2+ years of experience in a similar role, ideally within a data-driven environment
- Proficiency in SQL and experience with relational databases like MySQL, PostgreSQL, as well as NoSQL databases like MongoDB
- 2+ years of hands-on experience in Python, including data manipulation, scripting, and automation
- Strong experience with ETL/ELT processes and data pipeline orchestration tools like Apache Airflow, as well as data transformation frameworks such as dbt
- Experience with distributed data processing tools such as Apache Spark, and streaming/event platforms like Apache Kafka, will be considered a plus
- Experience working with BI tools such as Apache Superset, Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
- Experience with AI/ML techniques (e.g., churn prediction, forecasting, classification models) will be considered a strong plus
- Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, GCP, or AWS is a plus
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
