Certified Medical Assistant
UofL HealthMedical Assistant providing patient care at UofL Health facilities across Kentucky. Assisting medical teams with patient triage, treatment procedures, and maintaining EHR compliance.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Assist the medical team in providing quality care to all patients.
- Perform patient triage, vital signs, patient history, EKG, injections, and using the electronic health record.
- Maintain patient information in electronic health record (EHR).
- Ensure all appropriate patient information is scanned into EHR.
- Assist physician in exam room as needed.
- Schedule surgeries/tests or hospital admissions as needed.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and HIPAA requirements.
Requirements
What you’ll need- High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent (required)
- Medical Assisting Degree (preferred)
- One year of medical assisting experience working in a medical facility (preferred)
- Medical Assisting certification from a nationally recognized organization (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) accredited by the American Heart Association (required)
