About the role
- Translate high-fidelity Figma designs into pixel-perfect, responsive Shopify themes and custom templates.
- Bring creative concepts to life through animations, transitions, and dynamic elements that enhance storytelling.
- Ensure consistency in layout, brand styling, and UX across all device types and screen sizes.
- Collaborate with designers to push what’s possible creatively, while maintaining performance and usability.
- Build and maintain custom Shopify apps, scripts, and integrations as needed.
- Develop smart functionality such as personalized experiences, dynamic product recommendations, bundles, and quizzes.
- Create and manage APIs, third-party integrations, and Shopify Plus customizations.
- Optimize for performance, speed, and SEO across all builds.
- Identify and resolve bugs, site issues, or bottlenecks with efficient troubleshooting and QA processes.
- Implement A/B test functionality in partnership with growth and CRO teams.
- Ensure best practices around accessibility, compliance, and secure code architecture.
- Monitor site health and performance using Google Analytics, Lighthouse, or similar tools.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to scope, prioritize, and deliver high-impact website features and pages.
- Manage sprint cycles, timelines, and expectations in coordination with stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation of code, workflows, and development standards to ensure scalability.
Requirements
- 4-6+ years of full stack development experience, with a strong emphasis on Shopify (Liquid, Polaris, Theme Kit, etc.).
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, React, and Node.js.
- Deep understanding of Shopify’s ecosystem, APIs, checkout customization, and performance optimization.
- Strong eye for design and experience working closely with creative teams to bring visuals to life.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced DTC environment.
- Experience with Git, version control, and modern development workflows.
- Familiarity with headless commerce frameworks is a plus (e.g., Hydrogen, Next.js).
