About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage and execute projects of small to medium complexity
- Support larger strategic sourcing projects
- Sourcing for specific project needs, contract negotiation, and coordination
- Maximize Unum’s purchasing power and reduce total costs
- Work closely with business owners and subject matter experts
- Execute sourcing strategies specific to defined categories
- Conduct RFX events and prepare bid analysis
- Collaborate with legal for contract review and approval
- Analyze supplier contracts and recommend appropriate changes
- Manage supplier diversity within supply base
- Perform prospective supplier assessments and onboarding
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 or more years of procurement, sourcing or supply chain experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in business or supply chain management preferred
- Strong negotiation and contracting skills
- Proven skills to develop and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies
- Ability to think strategically
- Ability to perform financial analysis
- Project Management experience considered a plus
- Advanced PC skills required (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)
