About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Manage and execute projects of small to medium complexity
  • Support larger strategic sourcing projects
  • Sourcing for specific project needs, contract negotiation, and coordination
  • Maximize Unum’s purchasing power and reduce total costs
  • Work closely with business owners and subject matter experts
  • Execute sourcing strategies specific to defined categories
  • Conduct RFX events and prepare bid analysis
  • Collaborate with legal for contract review and approval
  • Analyze supplier contracts and recommend appropriate changes
  • Manage supplier diversity within supply base
  • Perform prospective supplier assessments and onboarding

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3 or more years of procurement, sourcing or supply chain experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or supply chain management preferred
  • Strong negotiation and contracting skills
  • Proven skills to develop and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies
  • Ability to think strategically
  • Ability to perform financial analysis
  • Project Management experience considered a plus
  • Advanced PC skills required (Excel, Power Point, Word, etc.)
