About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manages high-level learning and/or business initiatives/programs for various functional areas
- Consults with business SMEs and/or instructional designers to elicit learning requirements, including desired learning outcomes, scope, audience, and timing
- Builds consulting competency in others
- Initiates collaboration, as a trusted business partner, with key stakeholders using influencing skills to gain genuine understanding and agreement on learning solutions implemented
- Applies deep knowledge of available training delivery methods including on-demand/e-learning, classroom learning, social learning and/or mentoring when leading learning efforts
- Applies creative problem solving to best meet the changing needs of the business, proactively anticipating and planning for training needs and the most effective way to deliver that training
- Manages the value proposition of learning programs through metrics, analytics and ROI of the training being offered
- Continuous improvement mindset applied to all programs and initiatives- continually looking for better, more efficient, and effective ways to deliver on all learning initiatives
- Applies best practices and industry trends to learning solutions
- Actively researches and seeks to evolve and modernize our approach to learning effectiveness
- Communicates with business partners and others so they are aware of learner proficiency and program performance
- Demonstrating return on investment (ROI) by collecting and analyzing data, including metrics, business indicators and partner feedback to continuously improve offerings
- Develops talent (direct reports, SMEs, presenters) by determining the competencies needed to achieve strategic and individual development goals, providing consistent coaching, recognition, and feedback
- Leads a strong and collaborative team leveraging effective coaching and performance management skills
- Supports workforce planning, selection, and on-boarding processes, as applicable
- Employs change leadership strategies to embrace, drive and guide others through change, including building change management competencies in others
- Champions team’s lean or agile work practices which may include weekly planning, regular team stand ups and periodic reviews/retrospectives
- Creates, supports, and maintains an environment of belonging and inclusion with a commitment to ensuring strong diversity of thought and experience within the team
- Applies an understanding of broader business strategy in the development of supporting learning strategy(s)
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s degree in education, business, learning and development or related field or equivalent related work experience is required
- Minimum 5+ years (combined) business, financial industry, business functional experience and/or experience in learning, education, or organizational development
- Excellent people leadership and aptitude towards management skills
- Experience in leading teams with direct reports or experience in managing others without direct authority
- Ability to apply creative and innovative problem-solving abilities to best meet the changing demands of the enterprise
- Strong track record in managing concurrent multiple projects, tasks, and priorities in a fast paced, changing, demanding environment with quality results
- Proven experience in the application of adult learning theory and measurement of results in a blended learning environment, demonstrating proficiency within the learner experience and meeting business objectives
- Ability to understand and apply core tenants of learning design/methodology and can synthesize effective instructional design with alternative delivery methods, such as in-person and virtual classroom, web-based, social networking, and self-paced skill development
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills with the ability to form strong relationships and partnerships with others, at all levels
- Naturally curious, comfortable with ambiguity and willing to change the status quo
- Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated strong consultation, negotiation, and facilitation skills
- Understands company business strategy, goals, and responsibilities to shareholders.
