About the role

  • Ensure laboratory tasks are completed on time to the right standard
  • All testing completed accurately and on time in line with the MTS's, including any additional trial work and annual surveillance testing
  • Daily calibrations and controls are completed and any issues investigated and resolved
  • The laboratory is organized and tidy with a 'clean as you go' mindset
  • Ensure that stock is rotated and levels are monitored and maintained
  • Able to prioritize workload effectively
  • All documentation either electronic or hard copies are complete in full

Requirements

  • Competent in the following microbiological methods
  • Total Viable Count (Petrifilm)
  • Enterobacteriaceae (Petrifilm)
  • Previous laboratory experience
  • Aseptic skills
  • Auditing Lab safety
  • NIR technology (FOSS)
  • Equipment calibration and maintenance
  • Laboratory Accreditation standards i.e. CLAS
  • Pipetting skills (desirable)
  • HACCP L2 (desirable)
  • In-depth Micro and dairy Chemistry knowledge (desirable)
