About the role
- Active participation in research, teaching and administration.
- Contribution to a well-funded research project on the advertised research topic.
- Presentation of the research plan and signing of a PhD contract within 12–18 months.
- Work on the doctoral thesis and completion of the PhD within the required timeframe.
- Contribution to teaching (laboratory practicals, tutorial groups).
- Fulfillment of administrative tasks to support the group’s research, teaching and administrative activities.
- Continuous familiarization with the current state of the art in the candidate’s field.
- Contribution to outreach through publications, conference presentations and public engagement activities.
Requirements
- Completed Master’s degree or diploma in Physics, ideally with a focus on experimental quantum optics.
- Experience in building single-photon sources and quantum communication systems (highly desirable).
- Experience in experimental quantum optics and interferometry, including laser optimization and alignment of complex optical systems (highly desirable).
- Excellent written and spoken English.
