About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Write federal, foundation, corporate and other grant proposals, including Letters of Intent (LOI)s, reports, budgets and funder correspondences with limited supervision.
  • Collaborate with leadership on short-term and long-term development planning, including operating plans, budgets and revenue projections to develop effective working relationships with Board Members, volunteers, government and Foundation representatives and others to nurture their connection to the organization.
  • Identify potential sources of funding and revenue including federal, state, corporate and nonprofit.
  • Coordinate efforts of key staff members to ensure that documents are completed by the specific deadlines for grant proposals monitor progress and ensure timely submissions.
  • Use various data sources to run reports and write summaries of results for internal and external use (grant applications and reports, public relations pieces, etc.)
  • Stay up to date on healthcare issues and policies to incorporate into grant-writing and public relations materials, including preparing PR materials, fact sheets, newsletters, press releases and media packets.
  • Initiate and oversee implementation of special projects.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree
  • Experience: 5 years' experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
  • Experience with HRSA or other federal grants is preferred
  • Exceptional attention to detail & accuracy, including proofreading skills and superior written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to efficiently prioritize duties and multi‐task in a fast‐paced environment.
  • Must show initiative, be self‐motivated, and have a strong work ethic, with a strong sense of judgment, discretion, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to follow and provide detailed instructions.
