About the role

  • .50 FTE administrative leadership of the MSW Program, including student recruitment, admission, and advisement.
  • Curriculum leadership and curriculum development for the MSW program.
  • Teach a range of MSW classes across curricula, including online evening classes via Zoom and five intensive in-person weekend sessions per semester.
  • Engage in teaching, research/scholarship, profession-related community engagement, and service to the Division, University, and profession.
  • Be regularly available on campus in Laramie, Wyoming, and teach in person during scheduled intensive weekend sessions each semester.
  • Travel within the state, primarily to the UW-Casper campus, and teach using distance delivery systems.
  • Teach during evenings, weekdays, and scheduled intensive weekends as assigned.
  • Participate in university and community service and program administration tasks.

Requirements

  • Earned Ph.D. in social work or a closely related field.
  • MSW from a CSWE-accredited program.
  • Two years of post-MSW practice experience.
  • Evidence of leadership experiences.
  • Strong record of research to warrant appointment at the associate rank.
  • Record of teaching in a social work program.
  • Valid driver's license with a motor vehicle record (MVR) that is compliant with the University Vehicle Use Policy.
  • Ability and willingness to teach during evening classes and scheduled intensive weekend sessions.
  • Distance teaching and course development experience.
  • Experience working in rural settings.
  • Strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States; sponsorship for H-1B work authorization or work visa is not available for this position.
