About the role
- Analyze genomic and transcriptomic data
- Apply bioinformatics and statistical methods to analyze data sets
- Write peer-reviewed manuscripts
- Participate in the lab, including working with students
- The candidate will have the opportunity to present findings at local and national conferences.
- May perform additional assignments as directed.
- May participate in international fieldwork and sample collection
Requirements
- A Doctoral Degree is required for this position, however, consideration will be given to applicants that are currently pursuing their Doctoral Degree and will complete the degree prior to starting work.
- Education: Ph.D. degree (by the appointment start date) in biology, ecology and evolution, physiology, wildlife biology, or related field
- Experience: Published manuscripts (or papers in review) demonstrating proficiency in analyzing genomic and transcriptomic data, or similar.
- Experience in the application of bioinformatics methods, population genomic analyses, and/or genotype-environment analyses
- Coding experience
- Wet lab experience
- Publication record showing proof of skillsets above (preprints accepted)
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience and demonstrated ability to effectively work independently and within a team
- Effective time management skills, clear organization, and prioritization of time-sensitive tasks.
