About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide broad division-level financial support for the College of Health Professions and Sciences
  • Support budget development, management, and reporting
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Provide post-award research support and reporting
  • Manage funds and process, review, approve, and advise on complex financial transactions
  • Maintain financial records and provide administrative processing support
  • Provide customer service to faculty and staff for divisional financial management
  • Recommend controls and process improvements and troubleshoot complex financial errors
  • Develop and maintain automated financial systems
  • Prepare and analyze financial data, reports, and records; identify discrepancies and implement solutions
  • Prepare and update financial statements, journal entries, accounts, ledgers, and reports
  • Prepare and/or approve financial transactions and payments
  • Prepare budgets and projections
  • Answer accounting-related questions for internal and external stakeholders
  • Assist with reconciliations, journal entries, schedules, and reports

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, or Finance, or Bachelor’s Degree with demonstrated work experience in Accounting and Financial Analysis
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting and budgeting
  • Experience with MS Office
  • Professional and effective written and oral communication skills, as demonstrated in application materials
  • Proficiency with financial software and systems, specifically Excel and Workday (preferred)
  • Advanced degree in business, finance, or related field (preferred)
  • Demonstrated financial and analytical work experience (preferred)
  • Related experience with UW System or another complex work environment (preferred)
  • Ability to complete employment eligibility verification and verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States upon hire
  • Three professional/supervisor references may be requested from finalists
  • Successful criminal background check required for employment
